Is Bare Republic Cruelty-Free?

Bare Republic has confirmed that they are 100% cruelty-free. They don’t test their ingredients or final products on animals, and they don’t sell their products where animal testing is required by law. Bare Republic is certified cruelty-free by PETA.

Is Bare Republic Vegan?

At the time of writing this post, the only two Bare Republic products ARE NOT vegan: Mineral SPF 50 Baby Sunscreen Stick and Mineral SPF 50 Sport Sunscreen Stick because they contain beeswax. They may add additional non-vegan products in the future, so make sure you always read the ingredient list!

About Bare Republic

Bare Republic is a sunscreen company that makes products using clean ingredients that are environmentally friendly.

Email to the Company

Before classifying any brand as cruelty-free and vegan, I send them an email with the following questions:

  1. Are your products vegan? If only some are vegan, which ones?
  2. Are any of your products or ingredients tested on animals?
  3. Do you have a Leaping Bunny or PETA certification?
  4. Do your suppliers or any third parties test animals on your behalf?
  5. Does your company sell products in mainland China (except Hong Kong)?
  6. Are you owned by a parent company that tests on animals?

This is how Bare Republic responded to my email:

Our products are vegan with the exception of the Mineral SPF 50 Baby Sunscreen Stick and Mineral SPF 50 Sport Sunscreen Stick, which contain beeswax. Our entire collection is completely animal cruelty-free. You can find our cruelty free symbol of approval on packaging for the products in the form of the Animal Cruelty Free Heart Bunny. We do not test our ingredients or products on animals during any point of production; the same can be said for any third parties, and we can verify that our ingredient suppliers do not test the ingredients or supplies on animals. Our products are not available in mainland China.
