Is First Aid Beauty Cruelty-Free?
First Aid Beauty is NOT cruelty-free.
Is First Aid Beauty Vegan?
First Aid Beauty provided me with a list of their vegan products that you can find under the heading “Email to the Company.”
Because they aren’t a cruelty-free brand, I wouldn’t consider any of their products vegan.
What is the difference between cruelty-free and vegan?
Cruelty-Free means that the ingredients and final product have not been tested on animals.
Vegan means that a product does not contain any ingredients that are derived from an animal.
A product can be cruelty-free but not vegan, and a product can be vegan but not cruelty-free.
Is First Aid Beauty PETA Certified?
Yes, First Aid Beauty is PETA certified.
Is First Aid Beauty Leaping Bunny Certified?
No, First Aid Beauty is not Leaping Bunny Certified.
From Their FAQ
This may look promising, but, unfortunately, it is not. Here is why:
“Cruelty-free” has no legal definition. Any brand can claim “cruelty-free” even if they do test on animals.
Some brands like to say that they are “cruelty-free” because it is a marketing buzzword to sell more products.
The only way to find out is to ask the company. One important question to ask is if their products are sold in China.⠀
Is First Aid Beauty Owned By A Parent Company That Tests On Animals?
Yes, First Aid Beauty is owned by P&G, a company that tests on animals.
Animal Testing in China
Animal Testing is required by law in China for all foreign cosmetics companies. All American and European cosmetic brands that are sold in China must undergo animal testing.
Any brand that chooses to sell its products in China cannot be considered cruelty-free.
Even products that can bypass mandatory tests may still be pulled from the shelves by Chinese authorities to be tested on animals.
Is First Aid Beauty Sold in Mainland China?
Yes, First Aid Beauty is sold in mainland China.
First Aid Beauty claims to be cruelty-free even though they sell their products in mainland China. They say that they have been able to bypass government-mandated animal testing.
This means that First Aid Beauty has been able to bypass China’s pre-market animal testing policy, but China still has post-market animal testing that brands have no control over.
All cosmetics that are sold in China are at risk of post-market animal tests that are often done without a company’s knowledge or consent.
Because of China’s post-market animal testing, First Aid Beauty cannot be considered cruelty-free.

Email to the Company
Before classifying any brand as cruelty-free and vegan, I send them an email with the following questions:
- Are your products vegan? If only some are vegan, which ones?
- Are any of your products or ingredients tested on animals?
- Do you have a Leaping Bunny or PETA certification?
- Do your suppliers or any third parties test animals on your behalf?
- Does your company sell products in mainland China (except Hong Kong)?
- Are you owned by a parent company that tests on animals?
